divide 30 by 3 and you have the congregation i pastor. i don't even live in the community where my church is. i'm 45 minutes away--and that's doing 60mph! we only have 16 members because the church split just before i got it. the people there have been hurt so many times they're afraid to take any more risks. they only have 1 service and i sometimes think they just want to sit there and die. all i can do is pray and preach and encourage. just hope they don't wait too long to wake up.

Yes & shepreach if you don't get some young blood in the church, the church will die.

We have suffered with problems in our church for years. At one time we had about 75 members. One paster was with us for 17 years. We had a big blowout in the church, caused by just a few. But our paster & family that most of us had loved for 17 years left. Our church even to this day has not recooperated from that. After that we went thru four pasters one right after another.
We finally got a paster an everything was good for over two years.
One day he just up and left us, he went to work in a hospital as head Chaplin. He felt that this is what God had called hin to do.
The rest I told on another post.
So now you know my church history! Very Happy Very Happy
PS: Did you notice that I changed my rank name to: board - admin
I wanted members to know that I was only admin on the 3 sister boards.

rev,
it could be depressing if i let it. i believe God has a reason for my being there. you'll love this! there's a thriving baptist church literally outside our door. it's across the street. the 2 churches are the only things on the street and the street looks more like a parking lot. if you're looking for a church and you just pull up, you're most likely to choose the baptist church because it looks alive.

nobby,
we do have some peripheral young people. we just can't get them to attend. if i try to do it myself, it won't last. that's been tried before. they do seem to be coming out of their depression. maybe the powers that be will leave me there for awhile. stability may be part of the answer.

Three ladies, the paster, & myself have formed a small worship team. One lady plays the piano, our paster plays the guitar, I play my portable keyboard. I mostly just play bass on it or some times the organ. Smile
It is great when we're together worshiping the Lord. It if a wonderful time. Very Happy Very Happy

Actualy its got 15 organs on it! I only use about 5!
One at a time of course. The're just digital sounds or voices, the thing has over 700 different sounds, all kinds of Insterments. It's a lot of fun to fool with.

Shepreach, I used to play the organ up on the keyboard, but it got to where it was really hurting my back just putting it up on the keyboard. Very Happy

All jokes aside I look forward to doing my small part, I love playing my keyboard. As we sing & play the songs to glorify God. We are the one's who are blessed. You know He even takes our praise & turns it into blessing. Smile
God bless you sis,
