Hi there all,
I wondered if anyone out there has read the left behind books, and if so what they thought/think. There seems to be a very divided opinion amongst the Christian community... |

It's a series of books, based on the prophesies in Revelation. It begins with the rapture and follows a group of people through the tribulation.
I've heard a lot of opinions about the series, some people object to fictionalising Gods word, other think that it's great and people claim to have come to faith through reading the books.
Personally I haven't come to a conclusion yet, although I'm swayed by the argument that it is augmenting God's word, which is as far as I'm concerned a no go! |

| They are great works of fiction, based in one interpretation of Revelations, but I would read and enjoy them as novels, not as Scriptural truth. |

Amen rev.
These books have stirred a following that are accepting them as biblical truths. They are works of fiction. Interesting perspective, but fiction none the less. |

| I worry about the kind of theology that is being peddled by some readers of the series, and how it is going to affect unbelievers. |

| I know this is an old topic, but I need to catch up. I have read all the books and look forward to the next one which happens to be the last one. With any book it should be a personal interpretation. I know they made me think about what could happen. I also think it could make any reader think about how he conducts himself. If they were meant for reader to use as "watch out this could happen to you" it caught my attention. I do not think it was meant for this. It is all in the way you you take what is written. |
