Romans 10:3 "For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God".

OK, what does the Bible say is ...God's Righteousness ?

Psalms 119:172 "My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments [are] righteousness".

The subject of the 7th day Sabbath-Sunday debate falls into Romans 10:3 nicely.

Since we just found out that God's commandments is ...Righteousness.
Then, that must include the 4th commandment....the 7th day sabbath.

But, Romans 10:3 goes on to say...that they being ignorant of God's Righteousness...go on, to establish their own...righteousness.

Need I state the obvious ?

Silver,
What did Jesus mean by these statements?

Jhn 8:17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

Jhn 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

Is there a difference between the laws of Moses and the Laws of God?

Jer 16:11 Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the LORD, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;

Jer 44:10 They are not humbled [even] unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.

what happened here?

Dan 9:11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that [is] written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.

notice the curse was poured out because they transgressed and disobeyed.

Dan 9:13 As [it is] written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.

and they still didn't listen..

Hsa 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

They even forgot all about it...

Mic 4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Now the law God is going to send forth from Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. This is the Law that Jesus and the Apostles are speaking of. A new covenant, a new law written in our hearts and minds straight from God himself. Which is the Law of Love.

Luk 16:16 The law and the prophets [were] until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Now the kingdom of God is within you. His law is not written in stone any longer it has been done away with for a better one than the one given to Moses.

Jhn 19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

Now we have a competition going on. Who's law ?

Phl 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Hbr 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope [did]; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

If we keep the law of moses we can hope that through our own righteousness we can be perfect before God and found worthy of eternal life.

Didn't work....

So God said ok, heres a better way...

I will grant you grace to have faith in the truth of who I Am, And I am Love, and Love is the whole Law.

God gave us his law of Love which grants us rest from all of our own labours to attain righteousness through the works of the old law.

You want to keep the works of God's law then this is what they are...

Become Love, Joy, Peace, gentleness, mercy, hope, compassion, faithful, goodness,
and spread it round to those around you. This is the work of God's new Law through the new covenant promised by God, when he sent his son into the world.
This is the truth of the gospel of the kingdom of God.
God's love in you and not written in stone but in your heart and mind.

God is our Sabbath Day. He is our rest. We don't have to perform the old ordinances of the law of moses. We are to keep the new ordinances of the law of Love.

Without Love you will not know God, because God is Love.

Love gave you a way to stop bashing your head against a brick wall and trying to succeed on your own.
Accept this gift which God has given to those who believe in him.
Come and rest all ye that are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
This is that rest that they didn't get to enter by their own works of the law.
This is that rest that God gives to those that accept his gift of grace through faith.

Reminds me when the Lord said to Saul...

Acts chapter 9

And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: [it is] hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Now why was Saul persecuting the disciples of the Lord?
Because they were living by the new law of God and not the law of Moses.

Silver, Silver, why persecutest the Lord?
Stop kicking against the pricks and accept God's mercy and grace to you.

Of course...
One was written by God... (the 10 commanmdents on Mt Sinai) on Stone tablets...'and He added no more'
And one was written by man (Moses)....he wrote his laws, in a book.

You're right !
The Law of Moses was abolished.

It is the 4th commandment of the 10, that God wants us to obey as a sign of the relationship between Himself and the Believer.

Is that why Jesus said: "IF..you love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15)

It is you...that is fighting God...by not obeying His law of Love, the 10 commandments.

Hi Silver,

I believe that everyday since the day man was created on earth, and God finished his work on the seventh day, that mankind has been disobeying this commandment.

God created the seventh day not a 24 hour period, but a time that mankind is on the earth. As long as mankind exists we live in the seventh day. All work was completed, finished, done on the sixth day. We just keep on a working, thinking God must have forgot something, or we can do it better. Not sure, but if God says OK time for lunch, and we keep working through it, and we end up getting hungry, it's no ones fault but our own.
Amen?
