In the Summer of 1991 neurologist (Simon LeVay) introduced the world of the possibility of homosexuality being biological.
LeVay claims to have found the differince in the hypothalamus part of the brain structure between gay and strait men.
The hypothamalus a small area of the brain that is near the pituitary gland which is located at the base of the brain.
The fact that homosexual behavier is observed across the animal kingdom indicates that for humans,it is not merely a chance based on sinful tendencies.
It is a natural byproduct of evolusionary process as is homosexuality. |

Welcome, Perry!! I've been looking for new people who talk 'Christian liberal' and very much hope that's where you're at.
Yes. This business of gay folks - I've been reading in a lot of different sources the position that homosexuality is inherited, a matter at least mostly of genes, and I would have to agree based on personally getting to know some gays and talking to them. Here's what I get from them, from the horse's mouth:
No one would choose the gay lifestyle if they had a choice. Who would want to give their families heartbreak? Who would want to let themselves in for a lifetime of disapproval and rejection because of their sexual orientation? Who would want to spend their lives outside the church? Who would want to keep their identity in the closet forever, forced against their will into dishonesty?
And yet they are forced into it by people who are otherwise kind, otherwise tolerant. By people who forget they aren't so perfect themselves.
By people who seek refuge in the Scriptures' strictures against homosexuality, to which I say - The Scriptures say Ye shall not suffer a witch to live, but we don't burn witches anymore for a reason. Yet people will make the exact same mistake, reinventing the wheel over and over.
Anyway, welcome, Perry.

|

| I think it is really a stretch to state that homosexual behavior has been observed in the animal kingdom. I think that homosexual humans are reading into animal behavior what they want to see. Animals, when sexually aroused and there is not an animal of the same species and opposite sex, sometimes get kind of weird and try to mount anything in sight, including an animal of the same species and same gender. However these animals are not homosexual because they will drop all interest in the same gender when the opposite gender shows up. This shows that they are not at all homosexual.......just sexually aroused. A honosexual human will actually reject opposite gender sex in favour of same gender sex....animals do not practice this. |

Incorrect. It is in the animal kingdom, and it is homosexuality.
It also might be helpful for discussions to be aware that research has shown homosexuality is not a black and white, yes/no tendency. The Kinsey research many years ago showed it to be a sliding scale that is very nuanced. It is a matter of degrees. http://www.kinseyinstitute.org/ |
