Looking forward to a positive experience

Hello;

I have been perusing the other board that Nobby moderates on for a couple of months now. I saw a post on that forum that led me to this forum.

I have been reading the New Testament straight through. I am on 1 Corinthians now. My plan after that is to read the Old Testament straight through.

Mostly I study alone at home and on my breaks at work as I really don't have anyone else to study with. I know that God has helped me to understand a lot of what I read as I asked him to be there with me when I studied (but I have to be honest and say that a couple of chapters in Romans were very challenging).

I am a Christian. I don't always do it perfectly but I know what and who I am. I am pretty sure of some things in life, very certain of other things in life and positive of only a couple of things in life. One of those things is that God does exist.

I explained it to my oldest daughter this way when she asked if I believe in God: I don't just believe in God ~ With every fiber of my being, I KNOW that he exists. It goes beyond just saying "I believe."

Enough about me...

Hi luvnlife, Glad to have you. This board is very slow. I would like to get a large group of christian people on this board. In the past it's been much like my other two boards I'd like to change this one around, to a christian only, that may take some doing. Very Happy

Hello Nobby! It's good to see you here too! I found out about this site from a post on "BibleDiscussion.com."

I think your idea is great. I would personally like to have a place to come where I can discuss and learn more about God and the bible and share Christian insights and viewpoints.

I find the other site stimulating but would like to focus more on learning and studying the bible with others of like interest.

Hi luv, thanks for your post over on BibleDiscussion board, that was a good idea. I thought it would sture up a few & get them to coming over hear. We do get people to join over, but I can't seem to get them to stay.
If I could just get some help from my other boards, I believe we could get this one up & running!

You're welcome Nobby. I believe in your idea. And if you like what I posted on there before, I think you will like my most current response even more.

I have addressed concerns regarding the 'definition' of Christianity and explained why all religions and individuals believing in God, Jesus and the bible would be welcome on the board.

I have laid to rest unfounded concerns that the site would be more like a 'fellowship camp' than a lively and sometimes boisterous discussion forum.

There was a concern that we would be excluding people who are not of the Christian faith from the board. I pointed out that there are sites and discussion boards for people who believe in evolution, atheists and agnostics so why should having a Christians-only forum even be an issue?

I explained from my perspective why it's important to have a Christians-only site.
