Hi Friends,
I'm a country singer, who now sings country gospel. I sing a song.
That says "Remind Me" It says that there're many things that I love and hold dear to my heart. But that they're just borrowed & there're not mine at all. So remind me, Remind me dear Lord Exclamation

We don't deserve anything that the Lord has done for us.
Even the air we breath belongs to God! Just think about that?

Now put both your hands over your nose & mouth, press tightly.
Now!! "Would you like to borrow some air???"

Remind me Lord, that you can take it away quickly! - (my air) I'm on oxegen 24hrs a day.

Remind me Lord, to always be ready, for your call!- Daily renewing of my mind & soul thru prayer.

Remind me Lord, it's only thru Your shed blood that I'm saved!

Remind me Lord, I'm not worthy of the scars in your hands!

I'm setting here thinking about how small I really am in His total plan,( very humbling) but each of us have a place, if the Holy Spirit is in our heart, & obey that small voice in our heart that leads us. Smile

God Bless You All, Very Happy Very Happy
Nobby

PS: It's a little early but Merry, Merry Christmas! #X-mas #X-mas

The songs you write obviously come from your heart, a wonderful place for music to come from. The song however states something I have had a lot of problems with, and one of the reasons I am not a Christian today.

"We don't deserve anything that the Lord has done for us."

Why must we become doormats for Christ? (I realize this is not what you intended to convey, but it is how myself, and many none Christians would see it)
Wither there is a God or not, I deserve air. I deserve happiness and love and the chance to aspire to anything I want to be. By saying the clean water we drink is an act of love, does he love his children in India any less when they drink from filth. Every time you drive your car or purchase something built in a factory adding to the pollution on this planet are you not spitting in the face of God?

“Remind me Lord, I'm not worthy of the scars in your hands!”

How would you feel if you gave up your life for someone and they said they were not worthy? Tell them to get off the floor and stop kissing your feet maybe.

In my mothers life I have seen good and bad things happen. She thanks the lord for the good, and blames herself (lack of faith, laziness, ect) for the bad. This is a horrible way to live, only taking credit for the bad things in life. Not a very good self-esteem builder.

Can we not be thankful for the air and the sunsets and still feel worthy?

What have you, or I, done to DESERVE the good gifts God has given us? When did we, as humanity, do anything for God that would EARN us His grace?

You ask why we should be doormats and fail to realize that we have been given the position, or opportunity to be, exactly the opposite. We have the ability to be heirs to the throne of creation. Nor does God ask anything of us other than our belief in Him and reliance on Him. Most people who are treated as 'doormats' do not see this kind of love.

That is not love it is fascism.

I deserve gods love, the air I breath and every moment of my life because I am a decent caring human being who does more good on this planet than I take (something most Christians sadly can not say)

If there is a God I deserve it because he gave it to me...

Your religion tells you to contract yourself until there is nothing left but God. My soul tells me to expand until I am one with what ever I call God. I do not need to kneel before my power, mine flows from within me. In the end, contraction or expansion, I guess in the end there is nothing left but God. Two paths to the same destination

Hmmm... sounds like a lot of pride in your heart, there. If the wisdom you use was wisdom from God, ALL of mankind would surely be doomed.

Does the clay dish deserve to be used as a baking device... or does it deserve to be used as a salad bowl... or does it deserve something else? Who determines what the clay dish deserves? The dish or the potter?

Your logic assumes that the clay dish should not be subject to the potter's will. Your logic assumes that the dish itself, deserves whatever the dish itself proclaims.

Because the earth is the Lord's Footstool... and because Christ Himself took the time to not only cleanse our feet, but also to cleanse our sins away.

That's called accepting the punishments that God gives you for your sins. Its called acknowledging a higher power that knows all that you do. Its also called being humble to the will of God and recognizing the signs of the Lord's counsel.

Only a horrible way to live to someone who grasps at Pride instead of the Lord.
