There is nothing that we can do that G_D has not already made, I believe cloning is not going to be allowed by G_D. Like the Tower of Babble, man is pushing to close to believing that man can create life, the best man could ever do is alter life, even if that happens G_D made the parts first.
Cloning may be the final down fall of man.

Cloning; it is one thing to clone an animal. Animals are not created the same way humans are; they breathe and have a brain, but are subject to their natural instincts. Man is given a soul, something that man in all his 'science' has no answer for. Animals do not have the same soul as man, therefore there appear to be two possible outcomes if man tries to clone a human.
1.) the product would be like a vegitable. It would be able to sustain life such as breathing and all its orgins would process properly. But beyond that it would not have the same soul that man has (no conscienciness of self as a living being) It, the product, would be a two legged animal without the natural instincts that are inherit in animals. For the soul of man (conscience/morality/mortality) that which causes man to question "What, where, how ?" would be missing.
2). *Worst case* This creature would be the soul-less, able to reason but with no guiding conscience. It would lack morality on all levels, if this outcome was able to function on its own on a high-thought process level, this creature would be the end-all to the arguement that man is inheritly good, evolving to a higher state of being. This would be fallen man in its true, undiluted form. We infact would be giving brith to the truly depraved without any restraint of that which sets man apart from the animals.

I think God would take pity on the clone and allow it to have a soul since it would not have decided to be one.But cloning is evil because it is drawing us closer to the end of civilization. We are one step closer to the new heaven and new earth and Christs return. |

This is a very difficult subject to understand and think about, but I think that a clone would not be a mindless and soulless vegetable. I believe that as humans we define ourselves by our experiences and the ordeals that we go through. Therefore, you can never truly clone anyone. The experiences that one goes through shape a person and make them unique in their own way. You may be able to make a clone identical to the original person physically, but mentally and spiritually everyone is completely unique, cloned or otherwise.
A magazine article I read recently describes my point perfectly. The article was a study that was done on the subject of identical twins. One set of twins was separated not long after their birth. One of them grew up to be a decent married Christian, the other an alcohol-addicted criminal. Contrarily, another set of twins lived together their entire lives. They grew up together, and were subject to the same parents. Thirty years later, they led almost exactly the same lifestyle. Both were married, had similar jobs, and lived respectably. They could have switched places and no one would have been the wiser. So you see that a person's physical makeup has nothing to do with how a person ends up living, but rather it is the environment and circumstances that a person lives with that defines a person's lifestyle and character.
Therefore, I believe that since people, identical to another or otherwise, have the freedom to make their own choices, they must also have a soul and are able to accept Christ and live with him forever, just as a natural, sexually-conceived person is.
I realize that having said all this, I must sound very pro-clone. I'm not. I'm anti-cloning. But I believe that with the way that science is progressing, eventually human cloning will become normal because it's safer or something. You cannot say that man cloning man is man creating life, however, and here is my reasoning: When a scientist is doing what the media calls playing God and cloning something, all the scientist is doing is coaxing the cells that God made to reproduce! He is not creating anything.
I believe that God has created all life, and that man creating man asexually is not man creating life. Only God can create life. To say that man creates life by cloning is to say that man creates life every time a child is conceived. Man cloning a human would simply mean that man has altered certain variables in the way that a child is conceived. Nature still takes its course, all man is doing is manipulating it. |
