| ...but I think society is taking a wrong view of it. Right now, people are talking about cloning in terms of harvesting organs. That's disgusting. Human beings, created by God, are not intended to be born into that kind of physical slavery. Someone cloned and just given an ordinary life with parents and a reasonable upbringing has the same chance to achieve the life God intends for them as any other human being. I don't think that we should be standing in the way of creating life; I think we should oppose the creation of life merely to use it for our own safety and comfort. After all, what if someone lost a child in a car accident when it was very young; even if it were cloned, it wouldn't be the same child. No one is ever going to have identical experiences, friends, teachers, illnesses, etc. So no one life can ever be lived again, and no human really "cloned" in a spiritual sense. I do think clones will have souls; after all, we're just manipulating the elements, not creating them from scratch. All life is God-breathed. |

I think organ harvesting is perfectly legitimate when not used from fully aware beings - i.e., just clone a few dozen hearts.
I think clones, if produced as full, should have citizen rights - and, of course, they will not be mental copies of the original. |
