_____________Something To Think About
Anger is only one letter short of danger.
If someone betrays you once, it is his fault; If he betrays you twice, it is
your fault.
Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.
He, who loses money, loses much; He, who loses a friend, loses much more; He, who loses faith, loses all.
Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.
Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift.
God's Blessings, |

It seems that no one has had anything to add to this thread. I had hoped to get some additional thoughts on the post.

Ok, Nobby, I'll add.
Humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.
The most common mistake Christians make in worship today
is seeking an experience rather than seeking God.
The more you become God's friend, the more you will care
about the things he cares about.
Although I enjoyed all of the ones you listed, I especially liked this:
Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. |

Why, thank you! You caught me on a good day!
I liked this one too......
People may refuse our love or reject our message,
but they are defenseless against our prayers. |

Hi Fran, My reason for posting this thread was the first line .
| nobby wrote: | | Anger is only one letter short of danger. |
I have a friend who has faught a quick temper for years.
Him & I & our wives were in a fast foods resturant one Sunday evening after church.
Well they didn't get our order right. If you tell them they will always make it right.
But that wasn't enough for my friend, he jumped up & got all over the young girl that waited on us.
When he sat back down, I guess I shouldn't have but I ask him if he felt better now. So then he got mad at me and stomped out.
I went up and apologized for my friends actions.
Next day he was at my house apologizing to me & my wife. He told me he had just come from the resturant.
He needed a zipper too!
Oh what dangerious webs we weep, when first we practice to deceive!!
A bro in Christ,

Maybe it was God poking you to plant that seed in his mind. It worked, though, didn't it? Made your friend think about his actions, heh? And because of that itty bitty seed, your friend was able to make amends, too.
Sometimes, God uses us when we least expect it, to help others to stay on the path. See.....you were a blessing for your friend!
Is your friend doing better these days?
Sorry, I digress *the usual state for me*......I used to stuff my anger inside so that it manifested into health problems like stomach aches, headaches, etc. In the past, I would harbor the anger....you know......covet it *Yikes!*. ......nurse it.....the whole "Oh woe is me" bit. Fortunately, God intervened and steered me on the right path. *He gave me a zipper!* So, with God's help, I'm getting better at expressing myself these days....sometimes, I'm very direct, or subtle....other times, I have to let it go......just depends on the situation. |

Fran, it is always amazing how God can take a seemingly bad thing, & use it for the good! But He does just that.

Yes God uses all. He helps us in ways we don't expect. We expect every thing we pray for to come about right now! But our time is not God's time.
Then we think of ways to help Him. We then wonder it dosen't work out so good. Oh my friend, no I have never heard him loose his temper since then.
If we turn over all our problems to God He will know what to do with them & He will never let you down.
God Bless You,
Npbby |
