Who is GOD???

Auther of this post: MoJo

" I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty" Rev: 1-8

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness...."
Gen:1-26

My own POV is that given the dominant role men play in the Bible, God is a he and is depicted as a he in Revelations in John's vision. All things point toward this. Almost all prominent characters, including Jesus, the angels and the apostles are male.

However, he created everything including women, animals, insects, flowers etc. and when you think of the multitude of species and varieties, the mind boggles. I believe there are many mysteries God doesn't want us to know ( although we keep trying), hence the very short synopsis of creation that leaves more questions than answers.

These things are obviously not pertinent to our salvation or we would know them or else they are a test of faith.

I dont think it is possible to any extent to understand the nature of God without reading His word. Anyone who has read the OT and the biblical history of the Israelites with open eyes can get a much clearer understanding of God's nature, the emotional attachment he had to his chosen people, and how very much they hurt him.

I'm thinking God is of both genders. Certainly His dominate persona appears to be male, but I'm wondering if that is due to the characteristics of the male persona vs. the female and the way in which He revealed Himself to mankind....

It has been occurring to me lately in studying New Jerusalem that Jesus is both husband and bride. If the church is his body, it would make sense to think of him in the female gender concerning this. Don't quote me on this though as I am still thinking it through.

Interestingly, in Leviticus, an adult female's estimation is THIRTY shekels - thirty pieces of silver. Very Happy

God is spirit & so are his angels. Right? I don't honestly believe God or His angels have a gender. I would think in my mind that's different than having both. I know in His Word He is always known as the Father. Look how many times in this post so far that I have called Him, He, His, or Him.
Jesus called Him Father. Jesus was a man. But was Jesus, of a certain gender when nown as The Word?
This is very confusing Confused to me! For years I've been taught that angels have no gender, but how many of them that are mentioned in the bible have female names. Could this be because most of the auther of the bible
are male?
Something to chew on!
Loveya guys,
