Should divorced men or woman remarry? What does the Bible say?
What if a couple has just cause for divorce? What would be considered just cause? Suppose a couple just found out they couldn't live together?
As long as one of the spouses still live, would it be considered all right to remarry?
Sorry so many questions? Not! |

Nob... I will leave the scripture portion of this to someone else but I will give my answer to some of your questions:
| Quote: | | What if a couple has just cause for divorce? What would be considered just cause? |
I do know that infidelity is really the only 'just cause' scripturally. However, I don't think it is a necessary reason. A marriage can heal from infidelity if the two participants want to put in the work necessary to heal it.
| Quote: | | Suppose a couple just found out they couldn't live together? | Is this a cause or a cop out? I do not believe in incompatabilty in Christians. Living with someone is difficult, however, when we are in Christ all those things that get to us as people, do not take the front row. As in church we learn to live and work with those who are different from us, for the good of the Body of Christ, in marriage we learn to live with and love each other as christ loves His bride.
The problem of incompatability is a problem of self-focus. I am not irritated by you becasue of the things you do, I am irritated because my focus is on myself, not God and not you. In a relationship the focus should be God, the partner, the self. In a family it should be God, the partner, the children, the self.
Self always comes last because God always comes first, the others come in the middle because the focus of God has always been on His people first, so logically to put the self in front of anyone else is to draw away from the focus on God. |
